I’ve decided to move and import subscribers to Beehiiv instead of continuing to rely on paid subscriptions here on Substack.
Here’s why.
After testing both models, I realized something surprising: the sponsor-based model has far more potential. Instead of charging readers a monthly fee, I earn through sponsored ads — and I get paid based on clicks. Each click generates $2.
That means your simple action — just checking out a sponsored article — directly supports my work.
To be transparent:
I spend 3–4 hours writing and refining each article.
I don’t want to lock content behind a paywall.
I want everyone to access it freely.
But I also need a model that sustains the time and energy I put into this.
The sponsor model allows me to keep everything free while earning more than I would through subscriptions — but it only works if you support by clicking and at least exploring the sponsor content.
I’m not asking you to buy anything.
I’m just asking you to check the sponsor article when it appears.
If even a small percentage of you take that small step, it makes a massive difference.
